How do we summarize 3 amazing years into a short story? That was the question. Then we thought about two words describing our relationship: Natural and Organic!

In a time where sliding in DM’s on social media and swiping right on dating apps looking for a match, is the new normal. It is refreshing to know that we met through a natural and organic face-to-face meeting without any preconceived notion of one another (one of our friends will call themselves the matchmaker, but this was truly meant to be).

A conversation about who we are, what we do, our passions, and our goals at Tatiana’s kitchen table led to a “Can I have your phone number?” by Darrian of course on his way out. The rest was history, and we were inseparable from there. Texting led to our first date, then a beach trip, to grilling out together, which even led to a quick weekend in Puerto Rico. Everything was always so organic, with nothing ever being forced. So organic to the point that we can’t even recall an actual sit-down talk about moving in together. It all just happened on “flow energy.”

Now when it came time to become “boyfriend and girlfriend” is when it gets funny “LOL.” On September 13, 2021, Darrian asked Tatiana to be his girlfriend and after an initial “yes,” Tatiana circled back 30 minutes later with a “no, sorry I’m not ready yet.” In typical Darrian fashion, he took it like a champ and acted like nothing happened (this man was clearly locked in). One month later on October 13, 2021, while Tatiana was away on a girl’s trip, she gave Darrian a call. She starts with “Do you know what today is?” Darrian very lost and confused, responds with a “uhmmmm no, what’s today?” She laughs and says “It’s our one month anniversary!” Clearly someone was ready to make it official now, and in true Tatiana fashion she gets what she wants when she wants it. They shared a really good laugh and that month from September to October became prorated into their time of being OFFICIAL.

“Alright, alright now how did ya become engaged?”

Not to constantly repeat ourselves, but once again so natural and organic! They always say “When you know you know,” and within a short span of being with one another WE KNEW. Our dreams and goals align! Our passions fuel and motivate one another! Before you knew it we became not only best friends and lovers, but business partners as well (for those thinking it, yes a POWER COUPLE). Then one day Tatiana looks at Darrian and while raising her hand says “My ring size is 5 1/2 just in case you needed to know.” At that moment Darrian got all the confirmation he needed, and now had to figure out his coins “LOL,” because the time was now.

He told his parents and closest friends and asked Tatiana’s mom for her blessing, they went ring shopping, and with the help of one of Tatiana’s friends, he planned a surprise engagement party. Darrian told Tatiana they were going to an all-white brunch party, where she would have to network and talk about her nonprofit. Looking beautiful as ever with a mindset ready to promote all she has going on, she walked into a space surprised by all her closest friends and family. Darrian got on one knee (in all white we might add) and now we’re planning a wedding in Sorrento, Italy.
